Announced: April 6, 2007

Mario Rojo del Busto

International Faculty and Scholars Services at Texas A&M University and the Houston law firm of Quan, Burdette & Perez will present an important immigration seminar for Texas A&M Administrators on April 18 in Rudder 501 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

"This seminar is a must for those persons responsible for the recruitment, hiring and processing of foreign national employees," said Mario Rojo del Busto, Director of International Faculty and Scholars. "They will learn how to sponsor correctly avoiding delays and important deadlines. It will give them an overview of all the important requirements and regulations regarding permanent residents, labor certification, sponsoring tenure track faculty and how to sponsor researchers."

The seminar will be presented in two sessions and lunch will be provided. Session one covers sponsoring faculty and scholars under the J-1 exchange visitor program and session two gives insight into whether or not permanent residence sponsorship for faculty and researchers is necessary. Participants may attend one or both sessions.

This seminar is also available through TTVN. Contact Ingrid Anderson at ianderson@tamu.edu or 862-1719 to reserve space for this seminar or to find out how to connect to TTVN. The deadline for RSVPs is April 16, 2007. For more information about the seminar visit http://ifss.tamu.edu/ImmigrationSeminar.asp.
