Conference on Energy Security and Economics of Climate ChangeAnnounced: January 17, 2007 The European Union Center of Excellence (EUCE) is hosting a conference on “Global Energy Security and Economics of Climate Change” on February 5, 2007 at the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center from 1- 7 p.m. The keynote speaker for the event is Texas Secretary of State, the Honorable Roger Williams. Panel experts from around the world will address how the changing international and geopolitical energy context affects the transatlantic relationship, the competition for hydrocarbon resources, the strengths, weaknesses and major trends in the State of Texas regarding these issues; current strategies in place (and being developed) to cope with dwindling energy resources, the need for energy conservation and climate change. The conference will help promote the research and study of energy security and strategy issues, and raise public awareness of energy security and the economics of climate change worldwide. It is co-sponsored by the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation, the Office of the Vice president for Research, the George Bush School of Government and Public Service, the College of Geosciences and the Moran Exploration LP of Houston.
